If you have been to Intramuros and have availed of the horse-drawn carriage services at Plaza Roma, you may have seen Romeo Javier with his horse under the shade of the trees waving to visitors and inviting them to go around the Walled City by riding a kalesa.

"Kwentong Kutsero" (Coachman's Story) is a well-known colloquial term for an exaggerated but interesting story. But the kutseros in Intramuros are storytellers too as they are trained to guide visitors.

You may want to ride a kalesa on your next visit to Intramuros. Look for Romeo and his colleagues who are equally courteous and knowledgeable on the history of Intramuros. Let us support the members of the Intramuros community, as they keep the Walled City alive!
